WE HAVE A CURE TO CROWDS IN DUBROVNIK. SORT OF.

Dubrovnik is the pearl of the Adriatic for a reason. That is why it is quite crowded. Although we are reasonably well connected, we do not hold any power in the local Dubrovnik government. But we know a thing or two about this city that will make your visit easier and more enjoyable.

First advice is to go by sea. This way you avoid the crowds but more importantly you get a sightseeing tour of a lifetime. This is the only true way of experiencing the southern part of the Adriatic. You will get to see some truly fantastic places, like the town of Korčula, located on the island of the same name, also known as the birthplace of Marco Polo. Or the island of Mljet, nicknamed “The Green Island” because of its thick, green forests. Mljet is also a national park full of untouched nature that surrounds a salt-water lake in the middle of it.

Further south you will pass by the Pelješac peninsula, highly regarded for its red wine - the famous Napa Valley winemaker Grgich owns a family winery here. And then come the lovely Elaphite islands: Olip, Jakljan, Šipan, Lopud and Koločep (or Kalamota as the locals call it). Each one of them is unique in its own pristine delicacy and calls for a separate visit.

After experiencing all this beauty, you finally reach Dubrovnik, the pearl of the Adriatic. In this case, it is both about the journey as well as the destination.
