WHAT DOES A TYPICAL MAKARSKA MORNING LOOK LIKE?

One of the first questions Croats ask when they wake up is: What are we having for lunch today? And so, the hunt begins.

We know the best places to find ingredients for your next meal. The local market is the first place to visit. While the smell of fresh fruit and vegetables is lazily lingering in the morning air, you get to stroll around the indulging sights of stands full of carrots, potatoes, oranges, greens, herbs and spices, all displayed like a live colourful Instagram feed that you can actually touch and eat.

After picking up the fruits and vegetables it is time to visit the nearby fish market where a selected few offer a variety of freshly caught sea delights. Or if you prefer meat, we will guide you to the best butcher in town, for a selection of the finest cuts of local baby beef or pork.

But the journey does not end once you pick up all the ingredients for your lunch. In order to have a typical Makarska morning you have to treat yourself with a cup of the best coffee in town. Coffee is a way of life here. It is meant to be sipped slowly, while enjoying the sun and the sea. And only then you will be able to announce that you have experienced a typical Makarska morning.
