HIKE TO A PLACE THAT COULD HAVE INSPIRED THE INVENTION OF PHOTOGRAPHY
Hiking is one of the best activities (sports?). A person needs no special talent, just a strong will to keep walking and walking. Thankfully, Makarska is full of places to experience scenic views that only hiking can provide.
What is really special about hiking in this area is the mountain of Biokovo. It is the second highest mountain range in the country and one of eleven nature parks in Croatia. Some like to say that it has its roots in the sea and its head in the clouds.
Like any huge mountain it provides many trails. We will make sure to show you the ones that will lead to places where the rich nature in its purest form can be experienced. We can recommend both easier and harder trails, depending on your hiking preferences, experience and physical abilities. Maybe you will start with the easy path and gradually advance to the harder one? Or simply explore the vegetation of Biokovo, which is best observed in the Kotišina botanical garden, less than an hour away on foot from our place. The end goal should be the very top, Sveti Jure, standing tall at 1762 meters, overlooking the surrounding valleys, mountaintops, the Adriatic Sea and its many islands.
Whatever trail you choose, it is a guarantee that the nature will dazzle you and the views will leave you breathless.
